Glutathione Therapy

Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant found in all human cells. It consists of a combination of 3 different amino acids (Glutamic acid, Cysteine, Glycine).

Glutathione is produced in the liver and plays a role in many different functions in the body.

DNA production, protein and cellular formations

It supports immune functions, that is, strengthens immunity.

Supports sperm cell production.

Provides removal of free radicals from the body

Regulates enzyme functions

Replenishes Vitamins C and E

Provides mercury excretion from the brain

Fights fatty liver

It is responsible for the regulation of programmed cell death(apoptosis).

Researchers have proven that increased glutathione values cause a decrease in many diseases in the body.

What are the benefits of glutathione?

1-) Antioxidant Activity:

Free radicals can cause aging and many different diseases. Antioxidants minimize the damage of free radicals to the body. Glutathione is one of the most powerful antioxidants, and high-dose glutathione has proven beneficial in many diseases.

2-) It stops cancer progression:

Glutathione has been shown to slow cancer progression in some studies. However, some studies have shown that glutathione reduces the effect of chemotherapy.

Therefore, more studies are needed on the cancer-glutathione relationship.

3-) Reduces Cell Damage in Liver Diseases:

Hepatitis, Fatty Liver, and alcohol use damage all liver cells. In a clinical study, it was observed that glutathione is beneficial with its potential antioxidant and detox effect in non-alcoholic liver disease.

4-) Increases Insulin Sensitivity:

Insulin resistance is the most popular disease of our time and is the leading step of type 2 diabetes. Insulin production allows glucose (sugar) to be used in the cells in the body, to enter the cell. This keeps blood sugar at normal levels. However, when insulin resistance develops, blood sugar increases due to sugar that cannot enter the cell and Type 2 diabetes develops.

In a small study conducted in 2018, many complications regressed in insulin resistance patients receiving glutathione therapy, especially Neuropathy (Neural) problems and Retinopathy (An eye disease) showed significant regression.

5-) Reduces Parkinson’s Symptoms:

Glutathione has been proven in many studies to reduce the symptoms seen in Parkinson’s. It has been stated that glutathione taken intravenously, rather than orally, is more effective in the treatment.

6-) Reduces Damage Caused by Ulcerative Colitis:

Like many inflammatory diseases, ulcerative colitis is thought to be caused by oxidative damage (Free Radicals) and stress.

In animal experiments conducted in 2003, glutathione minimized intestinal damage in experimental mice with ulcerative colitis. But human studies are necessary for the actual result.

7-) Treatment of Autism and Derivative Diseases: Glutathione is a very strong antioxidant that the body uses every day.

In a study conducted in 2011, it was thought that glutathione may also be beneficial in different diseases. After glutathione treatment given to children with autism, significant improvement was observed in many problems due to autism.

Although the studies are relatively new, there may be hope for many sick children and families.

How Is Glutathione Applied?

There are oral and intravenous forms of glutathione.

In our clinic, our recommendation is to receive treatment with an intravenous form. The dose is determined by the physician according to the patient and his condition.

The process takes between 10-15 minutes.
